A detective superintendent investigates the murder of an industrialist, and has to deal with a chatty office cleaner and a disappearing corpse in this comedy thriller.
“A body in the office, a paperknife in the back, and a cleaning lady who won’t stop talking.”
When Lily Piper finds her boss dead on the office floor, she does what any good citizen would: she calls the police. But by the time the grumpy Superintendent Baxter arrives, the body has vanished, the “murdered” boss walks in alive, and Lily is accused of having a wild imagination. As bodies start appearing and disappearing like office supplies, it’s up to the nosy, sharp-tongued Lily to “help” the exasperated police crack the case—whether they want her help or not.
