GMTR – Grewelthorpe Multi Terrain Event
Sun 12 October 2025
11:00am - 1:30pm
This will be the 10th year for this amazingly diverse course. It covers some of the most fantastic places which are off the beaten track – so you get to see the hidden gems of the Himalayan Gardens, Nutwith Woods and the start of the old drovers road upto Lofthouse Moor. Being in North Yorkshire – it of course includes some tough climbs and some hairy descents, but you get the best views in the area, as you wind your way through back roads, farmers’ fields, fords, moors and woodland – adjacent to the Swinton Estate near Masham.
The St James’s & Methodist Church are a charity – so you won’t get any swanky gifts or flash prizes for entering our race. But we do want to recognise your efforts and support, so our kind sponsors donate a range of modest prizes. And our local volunteers provide nourishment in the form of home made soup, flapjack and bananas to replenish you after the event.
We know that this is a slightly more diverse course than the average multi terrain, with some interesting ascents that are well worth the effort, but it is a much loved part of various local running clubs race series and we hope will become part of many more. Just take a look at this wonderful video of the course to see what you’ll be missing if you don’t sign up.
Entry is £17 for affiliated or £19 for non affiliated runners.
