Masham’s Peculier Yorkshire Day Celebrations

Join Masham’s Peculier Yorkshire day celebration.  Only in Masham could you find such a wonderfully quirky and Peculier Yorkshire Day Events that spread out into a Festival of Yorkshire fun and games over two days – Friday AND Saturday…

…in fact the fun starts early in the week with Black Sheep Brewery’s BIG Yorkshire Quiz and their Proper Yorkshire Day Activities continue throughout the weekened.

Local businesses, and voluntary groups have come together to bring you a series of unexpectedly fun and quirky Yorkshire themed activities and events.

 

The the schedule really gets into its swing

Activities on Friday 1st August:
at St. Mary’s Church…

12pm  – Town Crier and church bells

12.15 – 4pm – Yorkshire fayre served in church Children’s activities – teddy zip wire, hook a duck, crafts and more. Plus a variety of local stalls

1pm – Hand bells

1.30 pm  Songs/stories

2.00 pm – Choir

3pm – Kirkby Malzeard Longsword Dancers

All Day – Activities and Tasting Menu at Black Sheep Brewery All Day

 

Activities on Saturday 2nd August:
various locations…

10am – 2pm – Town Hall – Coffee and cake

1.30pm – Little Market Place – “Court of the Peculier” Re-enactment

10am – 3pm – Little Market Place –
Stalls and demonstrations, milk Jameson’s cow, talk plants with the Himalayan Garden and watch a reindeer parade! PLUS prizes for best Yorkshire dressed folk.

10-12am – Acorns Pre School – Lots of children’s activities  and open morning

1 – 4pm – Methodist Chapel Yorkshire Fun Day – Garden games, drinks and scones.

1:30 – Evening – Masham Sports Association – Watch Masham Vs Darley then get involved in a tug-of-war or try welly wanging, with a burger and a beer to finish

2:00pm AND 3:30pm – Masham’s Peculier Guided History Tours launched (2pm tour fully booked) – starts Mashamshire Community Office

7:30pm – Masham Town Hall – Yorkshire Movie:  Brassed Off (tickets onthe door)

All Day – Activities and Tasting Menu at Black Sheep Brewery… and Sunday too
