Enjoy one of the North York Moors’ most enchanting spring sights with this leisurely 3½-mile (5.6km) circular walk through Farndale – the famous “Daffodil Dale.” The well-marked route follows the beautiful River Dove from Low Mill to Church Houses and back, with an optional return through farm fields offering lovely valley views.
Wild daffodils typically bloom between mid-March and mid-April, creating a stunning display along the riverbanks. The path is mostly level with a couple of short inclines, and dogs are welcome if kept under close control.
Start and finish at Low Mill car park, 4 miles northeast of Hutton le Hole (OS Map OL26). Allow around two hours for the walk. Toilets are available at the start and finish, and refreshments can be found at High Mill and Church Houses.
We’ll also stop in the nearby market town of Kirkbymoorside, known for its welcoming cafés, independent shops and rich history dating back to medieval times.
Bus tickets £15.00.
Spaces are limited so book in advance at Mashamshire Community Office here or call Tel: 01765 680200
