The Garden Rooms - Tennants
Harmby Road
Leyburn

Challenge yourself while raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Care.

The Tour de Dales ride has Elite, Intermediate and short routes:

The elite route is 110km with elevations totalling 2188m.
Intermediate is 90km with elevations totalling 1457m.
The short route is 55km with elevations totalling 716m.
The ‘Grand Depart’ for all three routes leaves the famous auctioneers , Tennants, located just outside the pretty market town of Leyburn.

All routes enjoy panoramic views from quiet roads of Penhill and Wensleydale before heading into the lesser know Bishopdale for our first stop at the village hall in Thoralby.

The short ride then returns to Leyburn and Tennants again with wonderful vistas.

The elite and intermediate riders head up Bishopdale for our first major climb over Kidston Pass to descend into beautiful Wharfedale. Quiet country lanes then take the cyclists to the next recognised climb of Fleetmoss. Over the tops and back down to Wensleydale for well deserved break at the next feed station in Gayle/ Hawes

The intermediates then follow an undulating route back to Leyburn with fantastic views in all directions .

The elite riders leave Gayle/Hawes to then climb the famous Buttertubs pass before descending into stunning Swaledale where the route takes them to Reeth before the final recognised strenuous climb of Grinton Moor and Greet Moor. Home to Leyburn via Scarth Nick and Whipperdale Crossroads.

There are scheduled stops with food, Tea/coffee/soft drinks and water included at Thoralby (All courses). Refreshments at Gayle and at the top of Fleet Moss (Elite and Intermediate) and Reeth (Elite).

Join us for an awesome day out on two wheels, riding through the stunning dales to support Cystic Fibrosis Care!

Expect beautiful scenery, great company, and the chance to pedal for a fantastic cause. Don’t miss this opportunity to ride these stunning courses, specially chosen by Leyburn Cycling Group members to ride little known roads and challenging documented climbs.

Gates Open: 07:30 – Elite Start 08:15 – Intermediate Start 08:45 – Short Route Start 09:15
