Explore Masham in a Brand New Way with our Interactive Maps!
13 Oct 2025
We’ve just launched a brand-new feature on the Visit Masham website — a set of interactive maps designed to help people explore Masham and the surrounding area in a more engaging and intuitive way.
These digital maps make it easier than ever for visitors and locals alike to find shops, eateries, attractions, walks and places to stay. They bring together everything that makes Masham special, helping users uncover hidden gems and connect directly with local businesses.
Different Maps for Different Adventures
There are several map layers to explore, each tailored to what you’re looking for:
- Visit Masham Map – an overview of what to see and do in and around Mashamshire.
- Explore Our Town Map – get to know the landmarks, heritage and highlights of Masham itself.
- Places to Stay Map – browse accommodation across the local area.
- Shops Map – discover Masham’s wonderful independent shops, pubs and cafés.
- Walks Map – explore local walking routes, including Creative Legends, History Trail, Leaves Walk and Swift Trail.
Each interactive map allows you to click on icons to reveal more about a location — including photos, descriptions, business details and website links. Hover over the index to filter by category, and use the blue “Directions” icon to navigate directly to that spot via Google Maps.
Interactive Walking Maps
The new walking maps bring our local trails to life. From the Creative Legends Trail to the Leaves Sculpture Walk, you can:
- View routes at a glance, or zoom in for detailed trail paths.
- Click on each waypoint to discover more about the sculptures, artists or locations.
- Use the blue map icon to open Google Maps and find your next stop.
- Download the routes to use on a GPX reader such as Strava or Wayz.
It’s a brilliant way for visitors to explore the area — and for locals to rediscover some of Masham’s best-loved spots.
Part of the Peculier Masham Initiative
These interactive maps are just one part of the wider Peculier Masham project — a community initiative celebrating our town’s creativity, heritage and independent spirit. The campaign has already introduced Peculier History Tours, Edible Planters, and the Shop Like a Local brochure, all designed to encourage people to explore more of Masham, stay longer and support local businesses.
