
Jo Garlick is one of the artists whose work features in the Masham Flock Gallery based at Mashamshire Community Office.
The Flock gallery sells the of Reeth-based not-for-profit artists’ cooperative, Fleece. Work includes handmade jewellery, cards, decorative ceramics, embroidery and textile art,hand-dyed wools, mixed media paintings, watercolours, pastels and prints, handmade felt and much more.
Commission on sales support the work of Mashamshire Community Office too, this is definitely a peculierly™ Masham business where collaboration benefits everyone! How did the business get started?
Masham Flock is part of the popular designer/makers cooperative Fleece, based in Reeth. When MCO asked us to take over their Gallery it seemed like a fantastic opportunity to bring the communities together.

Not peculiar as such but all our products are unusual, unique and handmade by our artist collective. 7 8

It is constantly changing – tapping into a wealth of local, talented artists and makers working in many mediums. All drawing on these amazing local places for inspiration.

So many wonderful places and spaces around Masham from which to draw inspiration.
Insider tip:
Masham Flock stemmed from a group of ladies who met while taking a felting course at ArtisOn in Masham. Needless to say there is a strong creative community in and around Masham and once you’ve visited you will know just why so many find inspiration in this corner of Wensleydale.
