Masham Community Library is housed on the first floor of Mashamshire Community Office and since 2001, has been run in house by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Our friendly volunteers are helpful and you can always be assured of a warm welcome. We are open 6 days a week and fully accessible thanks to our lovely lift!

Convenient Parking

Because we are just behind the main market square in Masham Centre, you can park on the street or in the square where you are just a few steps from our doorway.

We are open Monday-Friday 10am-3pm.  Saturday – 10am-1pm

The library team know their customers really well and are constantly replenishing their wide range of books to accommodate our diverse but avid readers – so whether you are a fan of fiction or fantasy – drama to history & ologies to ornithology – they will either be able to find you something from the shelf or help you navigate the pre-order system where for just £1 you can order from thousands of books available to them across the county!

Enjoy Books – Your Way

Whether you like to read small or LARGE print, listen to Audio books, or maybe even prefer to E-read – we will have a variety of books for you to enjoy.

Not A Member – No Worries

It takes just a few minutes to sign you up for a library card.  You will need some form of photo ID and a utilities bill as proof of identity. If you are a visiting member of another NYCC library, you can borrow and return a book to your local library when you return.

Automated Returns & Renewals

If you prefer to self serve, then you can return your books, extend the renewal time or reserve a book online.

Pre-Order

We regularly replenish our stocks with genres of books that are proving popular, if you don’t see what you like on our shelves, our team will be happy to order from the North Yorkshire Library network – we will let you know when it is available. Most orders take approx. 2 weeks to arrive.

Internet Access

If you just want a quiet space away from home or the office, you can use one of our computers to access online information for an hour a day FREE.
