Swaledale Festival Events at The Garden Rooms

Swaledale Festival runs from Saturday 24 May to Saturday 7 June this year, with 60+ music, arts and walking events to inspire, transport and exhilarate in the spectacular northern Yorkshire Dales.

There’s exceptional classical, folk, worldwide and jazz musicians, plus Young Artist Platform concerts from rising stars. There’s theatre, film, comedy, talks and puppetry, and a wealth of opportunities to participate and create, from Swedish basketry and landscape photography to the opening Fauré Requiem Singing Day and 12 guided walks in Swaledale’s special landscape.

The Garden Rooms at Tennants with Host...

The Garden Rooms will host Swaledale Festival events again this year…

Sunday 25 May, 7.30pm – Royal Northern Sinfonia and Matilda Lloyd
Rooted in the region, renowned across the world, Britain’s only full-time chamber orchestra Royal Northern Sinfonia will take the stage with trumpet star and champion of her instrument, Matilda Lloyd.

Thursday 29 May, 7.30pm – Mark Steel: The Leopard in My House
Multi award-winning, BAFTA-nominated writer and comedian presents his hilarious new touring show. The topic: his battle with throat cancer. A battle he is winning (thankfully) and which only his rapier wit could fashion a comedy tour from.

Mark Steel: Book Signing
We are pleased to announce that as part of his “The Leopard in My House” tour event with Swaledale Festival on 29th May, we will be holding a book signing session, exclusive to event goers for Mark’s new book of the same name.
