In celebration of a 15 year love affair with musicals, Harrogate Theatre Choir is marking 2025 with a spectacular concert series ‘HTC15: THE MUSICALS’. They are taking their concert to a number of towns across Yorkshire and are heading to Masham Town Hall on Sunday 29 June 2025.
Catherine Field-Leather, Musical Director, remarked:
“What began as a small ensemble of just 9 voices in 2010 has flourished into a vibrant and dynamic choir of over 50 singers. We are the original Theatre choir, the longest-established singing group of its kind in the UK. A collective passion for musical theatre is taken to a new level in this year’s concerts and we look forward to sharing this passion with our audiences.”
The concert will feature some of the choir’s favourites, so you can expect Les Misérables, Evita, Wicked, A Chorus Line, to name just a few. But the repertoire will also include some of the more contemporary musicals that have premiered in the West End over the past 15 years. Songs from Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie are becoming firm favourites with audiences.
The choir’s events always support charities that have a significant impact on the towns and villages where they perform. Their 2024 season raised a whopping £2600 for several worthy causes, including the Boroughbridge Community Larder, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Otley Community Larder, Horticap and Harrogate Homeless Project.
We are delighted to announce that their forthcoming concert on 29 June 2025 will be in support of Mashamshire Community Office.
