You can be all of these and more at ArtisOn creative workshops and experiences, just outside Masham.

ArtisOn is a social enterprise offering a schedule of over 200 short creative workshops a year. Typically 1 to 3 days in duration, all run by over 60 inspirational, practicing artists and makers, many of them local, who all love to share their skills.

If you want to explore your creative potential, or just have a go at something you’ve never done before, you can do anything from painting or ceramics to blacksmithing and jewellery making. Enjoy a wonderful two course lunch with like-minded people and allow the creative sparks to fly.

Workshops dates are released in the autumn for the following year. Plan well ahead, as booking early is essential.

Be inspired at Happy House, the home of artists Josie Beszant and Ian Scott Massie. Tucked away behind Masham Gallery which is run by Josie, “Happy House” provides creative experiences, events and online courses. Scott and Josie run short immersive sessions for small groups of up to 4 people in their inspiring home.

Cook Up a Storm at Swinton Cookery School

Housed in a converted Georgian stable wing adjacent to Swinton Park Hotel, Swinton Cookery School is a relaxed, open demonstration kitchen with a resident chef-tutor.

Using produce from the four-acre walled garden behind the hotel, courses use fresh seasonal ingredients alongside other local ingredients sourced from the wider Estate. A busy program of half day and full day hands-on, practical cookery classes runs throughout the year and includes children’s cookery courses during the holidays.
