Tennis, Cricket, Bowls & Boules
Pay a visit to Masham Sports and Recreation facilities to watch or have a go.
If you fancy a game of tennis the courts at Masham Sports Association can be hired by visitors, along with rackets from Masham Community Office. There is also the spectacle and sound of wood on willow on the cricket pitch during the summer, with the beautiful Masham skyline forming the perfect backdrop.
Relax and just take it in along with regular crown green bowling matches from April to August. Cricket, bowls, tennis and even boules, all available at Masham Sports Association.
Court bookings can be made at Mashamshire Community Office – tennis rackets for hire too.
Masham Golf Club
Founded in 1895, Masham Golf Club is a beautiful 9 hole parkland course, dissected by the River Burn with some beautiful views and something to suit every golfing ability.
Visitors are welcome and have included singer Bing Crosby and golfing great, Peter Alliss. Visitors should always prebook. More information here.

Has fishing for salmon, wild brown trout and grayling along its’ 4 miles of single bank fishing on the River Ure, and the River Burn has over 6 miles of double bank fishing. Find out more about fishing on the estate..
Fly Fishing at Leighton Reservoir
If you a fan of fly fishing then why not head to Leighton Reservoir near Healey, Mashamshire.
Leighton Reservoir is situated between the Yorkshire Dales and Moors National Parks; it is part of Swinton Estate near to the village of Masham North Yorkshire. It is surrounded by moorland and enjoys fabulous views.
The reservoir is 105 acres with 90 acre fishable by Bank anglers, it is 90ft deep when full.
It has a reputation for large fish; stocks are kept at a high level with Rainbow Trout from 1.5lbs to 20lbs.
Anglers seldom go home disappointed.
