Snaizeholme Red Squirrel Trail and viewing platform are at the heart of the Widdale Red Squirrel Reserve at the top to Wensleydale near Hawes. Coniferous woodland is great habitat for red squirrels, but it can be difficult to see them, so the Snaizeholme viewing platform has been created as a viewing area for the public. The viewpoint and surrounding woodland offer an excellent chance of getting superb views of red squirrels and provide a unique opportunity to see red squirrels as they visit a feeder in a woodland clearing.

The Dales Little White Bus operates services from the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes to the start of the Red Squirrel trail – around 15 minutes drive. The bus should be booked in advance. From the drop-off point, it is a 2.5 mile circular walk to the viewpoint.

The landowner also has two bookable car parking spaces for visitors to use for a charge. These must be booked in advance through the Hawes National Park Visitor Centre.
