Marfield Wetlands is situated on the outskirts of Masham. A former sand and gravel pit, now with lakes, ponds and surrounding fen, wet grassland and woods. Just a short walk from the centre of Masham, Marfield Wetlands are designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and located adjacent to Marfield Fen SSSI and the River Ure corridor. There’s something of interest all year round, but particularly in winter for visiting wildfowl.

Beautiful walks and viewing hides around the site. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

There are walks within the wetlands which is just a short walk from the centre of Masham as well as a longer walk around the perimeter which can be combined with a walk along the river back into Masham. there is also parking available at both ends of the site.
