National Year of Reading Photographic Exhibition at Masham Community Library
2 Sep 2026
23–27 September 2026 | Mashamshire Community Library
A unique photographic exhibition celebrating the joy, comfort and inspiration that books and reading can bring to our lives is coming to Mashamshire Community Library later this month.
Ripon Library invited Ripon City Photography Society (RCPS) to take part in a special collaborative project to celebrate the 2026 National Year of Reading. Photographers were invited to capture what reading means to them through their images, putting together a unique collection. Twenty photographs were then selected to form a touring exhibition, which is visiting libraries and community venues across North Yorkshire throughout 2026. The exhibition will make its way to Masham, giving our local residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy it from the 23rd – 27th September.
Alongside the exhibition, a catalogue featuring all of the submitted photographs and the stories behind them has been produced, offering an even greater insight into the project and the inspiration behind each image – Click here
Whether you’re a lifelong book lover, an occasional reader or simply appreciate the power of a great photograph, this exhibition is a lovely reminder of how reading can open doors to a whole new world. Pop along to MCO and visit the Community Library to find out more.
