Community Newsletter Changes

1 May 2025

Just prior to the first Covid lockdown, it was our good fortune, to have two volunteers who supported MCO by beefing up and maintaining our community newsletter.

In the anxious days and months that followed, Roger and Wendy provided a news lifeline for many in Mashamshire and beyond. Trawling daily for accurate news, they kept us all informed, and in difficult times, found little gems to lift the spirits too!  Now they have now stepped down after five years of dedication – we will always be so grateful.

Big Boots to Fill…

Theirs are big boots to fill, so please bear with us… We aim to circulate the newsletter every two weeks rather than weekly, and now’s the time to let us have any suggestions for changes you’d like to see.

In addition to a new look visitmasham.com, MCO has just launched a brand new website dedicated to community news and information – mashamcommunity.org. So, we’re taking this opportunity to review the community newsletter too. There are a few changes to the look to match the new website, and one of the new roles we are currently recruiting for will help coordinate news and information for both.

But help is always appreciated, so please get in touch if

  1. You have any suggestions for changes you’d like to see in the newsletter.
  2. You’d like to volunteer to help research news or information in an area that interests you – health, heritage, entertainment, activities for young people … whatever!
  3. You have time to spare and enjoy writing and word-crafting – transforming info into something interesting and digestible… we always need help with this.
