Annual Masham Sheep Fair

Masham’s annual Sheep Fair famously celebrates the town’s sheep trading past.

It takes place on the last weekend in September every year and fills Masham Market Square and locations around the town; as it would have done in time gone by.

These days the purpose is not trading, but exhibiting – sheep breeds of all shapes and sizes are on display in one of the finest Market Squares in England.  The event is organised by volunteers and it raises vital funds for local charities including Yorkshire Air Ambulance, by filling the town with sheepy fun and entertainment all weekend.

The event is free, but parking charges and donations are the only way it raises money, so the generous support of visitors is what makes it so worthwhile. See more information on Masham Sheep Fair website.
