There’s proper Yorkshire food straight from the kitchen is available from our stellar team of chefs, perfect after a tour of the brewery and the Sheepy Shop is an opportunity to stock up on all your favourites.

How did you come to run the business?
Black Sheep was established in 1992 by Paul Theakston when the family brewery T&R Theakston, was sold to a national brewery.
Top sellers:
Black Sheep Ale.
Most peculier product:
Riggwelter Strong Dark Ale –clocking in at 5.9%. So named after the local Yorkshire Dales farming term ‘riggwelted’, where a sheep has rolled onto its back and is unable to get back up – so you might be able to guess why!
What makes Masham peculier?
We have 2 amazing breweries in the middle of a small market town..
What makes your business special?
As our name implies, we go our own way and brew a different type of beer.
