Hayley, Jude and Sarah from the community office, alongside a small team of supporters, set out to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge last weekend. Spanning 24 miles with an overall climb of more than 1,500 metres, the demanding route led them over Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
With bright sunshine and clear views throughout the day, the group began their journey at 5:00am and completed it in good time for a well earned drink, albeit with a bit of sunburn and a lot of blisters.
So far, the team have raised an incredible £1,113, thanks to the generosity of those who have supported their efforts, funds that will go towards providing essential services within the community.
Hear directly from Hayley as she shares insights from the day, what motivated the challenge, and the impact this fundraising will have. You can also take a look at photos captured along the way below and there is still time to make a donation (link below).
A huge well done ladies for undertaking such a big challenge in support of others who rely on MCO services.
“Our fantastic team completed our challenge on 25th April and I for one have the blisters and sunburn to prove it! The 5am start, the grueling hills and heat were all worth it knowing that our efforts mean MCO can use the funds to keep Mashamshire residents support, safe and connected with the new Volunteer Transport service! Thank you to everyone that sponsored us…we’ll keep the page open for those that wanted to make sure we completed the challenge before sponsoring! Thanks everyone. Hayley”
