It is a well known fact that just £10 spent in a local High Street is worth more than double that to the local economy because it not only helps to keep our fantastic independent shops open, but they are often buying their products from local sources and employ local people. To celebrate the many amazing independent shops that we have right here in Masham, the High Street project teams have been hard at work developing a little guide to the shops that are here right on your doorstep – A Pecuiler Masham Shop Like A Local Guide.
The guide is not only an insight into the many wonderful products that you can buy right here in Masham- but also an opportunity to get to know our local retailers a bit better. Why they are so passionate about what they do and why they love being in Masham so much – and to keep our Peculier theme going – they are even happy to share with you their most Peculier products and facts about Masham.
No insiders guide would be complete without an overview of the many local attractions and things to do and see in Masham and this part is particularly targeted at helping visitors decide to visit Masham. To showcase the many wonderful things that they can see and do whilst they are in the area. As such, it will be sent to all Tourist points in North Yorkshire, and offered to all accommodation providers with links to our new ‘shop local’ pages (more on this when we launch our new site).
It has been developed by ‘Masham Futures Community Partnership’ with funds from the Mayors Vibrant & Sustainable High Street Fund – and is a reminder of how important it is for us to cherish and wherever possible support our local shops. Remember just £10 a month spent in the High Street on everyday items such as bread, veg or meat can help pay the wages of someone you may know!
Masham Peculier Shop Like A Local Project
The Masham Peculier Shop Like A Local initiative has been designed to encourage locals and visitors to spend just £10 in our High Street when they next visit – it gives both a chance to get to know the people behind our many independently owned retail outlets that there are on the Masham Town Street. It has been developed with the community directed by the Masham Futures Community Partnership.
